Monster's weekly lawn maintenance covers the fundamentals: mowing, trimming, edging, blowout, and documentation. That's the backbone of a well-maintained property. But lawns and landscapes need more than a weekly cut to stay healthy, and properties need more than grass care to look their best.
That's where add-on services come in. These are the extras that Monster seasonal clients can book anytime during the growing season — from turf health treatments to full garden overhauls to heavy-duty site work. Everything is handled by professional crews with commercial equipment, scheduled around your existing service day, and billed transparently.

Turf Health
A lawn that just gets mowed eventually plateaus. These services keep the turf dense, green, and resilient:
- Fertilizer Programs — Seasonal applications timed to growth cycles. Spring feed for root establishment, summer feed for colour and density, fall feed for winter hardiness. We use commercial-grade granular fertilizer, not the diluted liquid spray you get from door-to-door operators.
- Dethatching — Mechanical removal of the layer of dead grass and organic matter that builds up between the soil surface and the green blades. When thatch gets thicker than half an inch, it blocks water, air, and nutrients from reaching the roots. Dethatching opens everything up.
- Core Aeration + Overseeding — The single best thing you can do for compacted, thin, or stressed turf. A core aerator pulls thousands of small soil plugs, relieving compaction and creating channels for air, water, and seed. We follow immediately with premium grass seed that fills into the holes and establishes new plants where the lawn is weakest. Best done in early fall or late spring.
- Sod Installation — For areas where the lawn is too far gone for seed. We strip the damaged section, grade the soil, and lay fresh sod for an instant result. Includes initial watering instructions and follow-up check.
- Organic Weed Control — Targeted treatment of broadleaf weeds using approved organic products. We focus on the weeds that actually compete with turf — dandelions, clover, plantain — not every single thing that isn't grass.
Garden Enhancements
Beds, borders, and plantings are where properties go from "maintained" to "impressive":
- Soil Amendment — Garden beds lose nutrients and structure over time. We top-dress with triple mix, compost, or custom blends depending on what you're growing. Healthy soil is the foundation of every planting that actually survives.
- Full-Service Plantings — Annuals for seasonal colour, perennials for long-term structure, shrubs for screening or accent. We source quality nursery stock, handle all planting, spacing, and initial watering. Tell us what you want or let us recommend — our crews have installed thousands of plants across the GTA.
- Mulch Supply + Installation — Available anytime, not just at kickoff. Fresh mulch mid-season refreshes faded beds, suppresses weed growth, and retains moisture during July and August heat. We supply and install — you don't need to figure out how many yards to order or spend your weekend hauling bags.
- Watering Services — Going on vacation? Just had new sod or plantings installed? We provide temporary watering visits to keep new installations alive during critical establishment periods. Simple, scheduled, reliable.
Hardscape and Detailing
The stuff that makes the whole property feel finished:
- Pressure Washing — Decks, patios, walkways, retaining walls, building facades. Commercial pressure washing removes years of grime, algae, mildew, and staining. The transformation is dramatic — surfaces look new again without replacement.
- Parking Lot Sweeping — For commercial properties, we offer mechanical sweeping to clear debris, gravel, sand, and litter from parking surfaces. Keeps the property looking professional and reduces slip hazards.
- Seasonal Decorations — Urn plantings, planter installations, and seasonal displays for commercial properties or residential clients who want the finishing touch. We handle design, sourcing, installation, and seasonal swap-outs.
Heavy Duty
When the job goes beyond maintenance and into transformation:
- Brush Removal — Overgrown areas, neglected fence lines, wild growth along property boundaries. We cut, clear, and haul everything away.
- Fence Line Clearing — Vines, saplings, and brush growing into or through fencing. We clear both sides and restore access.
- Excavation + Grading — Drainage correction, soil grading, site preparation for new installations. We bring the equipment to move earth properly, not just push it around.
- Hardscaping — Interlock patios and walkways, natural stone work, retaining walls, steps. Design, supply, and installation by experienced crews.
How Add-Ons Work
Seasonal Monster clients get priority booking for all add-on services — you're already in the system, your property is already mapped, and your crew already knows the site. Scheduling is fast because we're already there every week.
Pricing is straightforward. Labour is billed at $150/hour for crew time with commercial equipment. Materials are quoted in advance with a 50% deposit for larger projects. Small add-ons (a few flats of annuals, a yard of mulch) often get rolled into the next visit with no extra scheduling needed.
There's no minimum project size and no maximum. We've planted a single tree and we've regraded entire lots. If it's outdoor property work in the GTA, we either do it or we know exactly who does.
