Hiring at Monster: What We Look For and What You Get

This Isn't a Side Hustle

Monster Property Services runs 200+ crew across the Greater Toronto Area. GPS-tracked fleet. Commercial-grade equipment. Structured routes, scheduled crews, digital checklists, and real accountability. This is a professional operation — and we hire people who want to be part of one.

If you're looking for a casual summer gig where nobody notices if you show up late, this isn't it. But if you want consistent hours, proper equipment, and a clear path to grow — keep reading.

What We Look For

Reliability

Show up on time. Every time. This is non-negotiable. Our routes run on a schedule. When one person is late, it cascades through the entire crew's day. Reliability isn't a "nice to have" — it's the foundation of everything.

Physical Fitness

This is outdoor work. You'll be on your feet all day, in sun, rain, heat, and cold. You'll push mowers, carry blowers, haul debris bags, and move equipment. It's honest physical work, and the people who thrive here are the ones who don't mind sweating.

Team Mentality

You're part of a crew, not a solo act. Every stop has multiple tasks that need to happen in sequence. Mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, cleanup — the crew moves as a unit. If you can work alongside people without needing to be managed through every task, you'll do well.

Pride in Work

If a messy edge bothers you, you'll fit right in. If a missed strip of grass makes you go back and fix it without being told, you're our kind of person. The bar at Monster is that the property should look better when you leave than when you arrived — every single time.

What You Get

Competitive Pay

Hourly rates range from $18 to $28 depending on role, experience, and season. This isn't under-the-table cash work. You get proper pay stubs, tax documentation, and consistent deposits.

  • Crew Member — starting from $18/hr
  • Experienced Operator — $20–$24/hr based on equipment certifications
  • Crew Leader — $24–$28/hr with leadership premium
  • Garden Specialist — $22–$26/hr based on horticultural skills

Consistent Hours

Full-time seasonal positions run 160+ hours per month during the active season (April through November). This isn't a two-days-a-week arrangement — it's a real schedule with real income.

All Equipment Provided

You don't bring your own mower. Monster supplies everything: commercial-grade mowers, string trimmers, blowers, edgers, hand tools, and a vehicle to get to the jobsite. If it breaks, we fix it or replace it. Your job is to use it properly and take care of it.

Uniforms and PPE

Monster-branded uniforms are provided. Safety equipment — boots, gloves, eye protection, ear protection — as required. You show up looking professional because you represent a professional operation.

Training

New crew members get structured onboarding. Equipment operation, safety protocols, service standards, route procedures. You're not thrown into the field on day one and expected to figure it out. Ongoing training continues throughout the season as you develop skills.

Clear Career Ladder

This isn't a dead-end job unless you want it to be. The progression is straightforward:

  • Crew Member — learn the fundamentals, prove reliability
  • Experienced Operator — master commercial equipment, handle more complex properties
  • Crew Leader — run your own crew, manage route execution, train new staff

Every Crew Leader at Monster started as a Crew Member. The path exists — the question is whether you want to walk it.

Professional Environment

Monster is WSIB-covered, carries $5 million in commercial liability insurance, runs a GPS-tracked fleet, and operates with proper employment standards. This isn't grey-area work. Your hours are tracked digitally, your pay is documented, and your workplace is legitimate.

Open Positions

  • Lawn Care Crew Member
  • Experienced Operator
  • Crew Leader
  • Garden Specialist
  • On-Call Crew (flexible schedule, fill-in shifts)
